Notary and Apostille
Whenever a document is mandated as support for the application for Serbian Citizenship by Investment, certification and authentication are required. Certification and authentication must be in accord with the regulations of the jurisdiction where the document originated.
The individual certifying the document is required to provide:
- Full name — in capitals
- The capacity in which they are acting
- Residential/Business address
- Phone number
When a notary public provides certification for a true copy, that document must then be authenticated by:
1. An apostille as governed by the rules listed in the Hauge Convention of October 5, 1961, which abolished the requirement for legislation for foreign public documents, and
2. Validation of the certificate of the notary public by the appropriate government department in the jurisdiction that is not a party to the Hague Convention mentioned.
